Peter and Evynne Hollens
Hello, JUKEBOXERS!! It's Jewel with a review on another amazing collab. This time, Peter Hollens sings with his wife, Evynne Hollens.
Husband and wife duo, Peter and Evynne Hollens are such a beautiful couple. In the photo above, they show off their baby bump. Their son, Ashland James Hollens was born on March 31, 2014. Peter and Evynne have separate careers, but they do collabs together every once in a while, like this Phantom medley (I'll post another collab down below). Evynne Hollens is from Eugene, Oregon. She wears various hats, including performer, teacher, and artistic director. She performs locally, directs for Rose Children's Theatre, and has her own private voice studio. According to her Facebook page, she is currently "Lucy" in OCT's production of "Avenue Q". She's spent many years on cruise ships, performing alongside Peter. They've recently created a show for Azamara Cruise Lines called "Voices".
What I like about this medley is basically the fact that it's PHANTOM! I didn't give this medley five stars because of the fact that a Capella just doesn't do this production justice. I would've preferred hearing the actual instruments. That being said, I do think this medley is amazing for a Capella because singing songs from Phantom of the Opera is difficult enough with instruments; just imagine how hard it was to sing each individual instrument! Songs from Phantom need, no demand mature and developed voices. All I can say is they (Peter and Evynne) know they're good and they know how to pick the songs they cover. They put a lot of effort into this production and I love how beautiful their voices are. As a bonus, they even made the video Phantom-themed, check it out:
