"Feelin' Good" Original Song by Christina Grimmie

Awesome photo of Christina Grimmie from the announcement on her official site that she is a standout for season 6 of The Voice (team grimmie rawks!!)

Welcome back, JUKEBOXERS!! Today, I have another original song from a YouTube cover artist. I don't think she needs any introduction because she is a vocal talent in the top ten of season six of The Voice.

Since I've already reviewed one of her covers, you can read that review for more information on the one and only CHRISTINA GRIMMIE. Click here to read my post on her cover of "Demons" by Imagine Dragons.

While I gave her cover a 3.5, this original song deserves a higher rating. I mean, I only listened to it once and its melody was already stuck in my head! And now I've just been playing this song on repeat for the past hour. This song's vocals are very jazzy and blues-y (there I go again making up words). This song was a beautiful mix of jazz, blues, pop, and soul. She really gets to show off her vocal talents with this song. I love how upbeat the song is, which totally suits the song's title. It also just makes me want to get up and dance, but since I'm on my lunch break at work in my cubicle, I'll refrain from doing so. I appreciate how she put her fans in this video because it attests to how much she loves and cherishes them. If I were being really nit-picky the only complaint I'd have is how the song abruptly introduces the bridge. But seriously, that's not a reasonably justified complaint, and I personally like the way it sounds.

All in all, this song is an amazing piece of music that will get you up and moving. And if you don't really feel like it, it'll get you feelin' good. Pun aside, this really is a beautiful song written to inspire people and bring about a positive attitude.

Here's the music video, I hope you enjoy!!

Lyrics:

Before last night,
I was down on my luck
There was nothing going my way
Before last night,
Wasn't feelin' the love
No reason for a smile on my face

But I was always told
You could turn it around
Do it for the light of day
So get yourself together
Get out of the town
If music gets you feeling okay
Now I'm on a role
And I'm losing control
'Cause

I got that sunshine
It's like the world is mine
I can't deny I'm feeling good
Can't stop from smiling
I'm bottled lightning
Deep inside I'm feeling good

All my heartbreak,
My long and rainy days are gone
And now I can't complain
Everything's alright
I'm feeling so alive
I can't deny I'm feeling good

I was so low on Friday alone
No one even called my phone
I looked in the mirror
And I said to myself
Why am I still sitting at home?
Now I'm on a role
And I'm losing control
'Cause

I got that sunshine
It's like the world is mine
I can't deny I'm feeling good
Can't stop from smiling
I'm bottled lightning
Deep inside I'm feeling good

All my heartbreak,
My long and rainy days are gone
And now I can't complain
Everything's alright
I'm feeling so alive
I can't deny I'm feeling good

I got that sunshine
The world is mine
I'm feeling good
I feel it deep inside
I can't deny I'm feeling good
Everything's alright
I'm so alive
I'm feeling good
I'm feeling good
I'm feeling good
Hey

I got that sunshine
It's like the world is mine
I can't deny I'm feeling good
Can't stop from smiling
I'm bottled lightning
Deep inside I'm feeling good

All my heartbreak,
My long and rainy days are gone
And now I can't complain
Everything's alright
I'm feeling so alive
I can't deny Oh

I got that sunshine
It's like the world is mine
I can't deny I'm feeling good
Can't stop from smiling
I'm bottled lightning
Deep inside I'm feeling good

All my heartbreak,
My long and rainy days are gone
And now I can't complain
Everything's alright
I'm feeling so alive
I can't deny I'm feeling good
